U.S. to host Croatia in first round of 2005 Davis Cup

SEVILLE, Spain (Ticker) - The Home Depot Center in Carson, California has been chosen as the site for the United States' first-round match against Croatia in the 2005 Davis Cup.
The United States, which is facing Spain this weekend in the 2004 Davis Cup final, will host the Croats from March 4-6.
"The outdoor hard courts at this state-of-the-art tennis stadium will provide our players the best venue against a tough first-round opponent," U.S. captain Patrick McEnroe said. "We will be playing before some of the most knowledgeable tennis fans - and sports fans - in the world."
In the only previous Davis Cup match between the countries, Croatia posted a 4-1 victory in the first round of the 2003 Davis Cup in Zagreb.
Croatia is led by Wimbledon semifinalist Mario Ancic, Ivo Karlovic and Ivan Ljubicic.
The winner of the U.S-Croatia match will take on either Romania or Belarus in the second round July 15-17.
